Close to Flora Batava you can visit several beautiful castles, windmills and country estates. The medieval castles tell the story of the battle between the bishop of Utrecht and the count of Holland for control of the river. At 11 km from Flora Batava you will find the monumental Kasteel De Haar, the largest and most luxurious castle in the Netherlands. In addition, the country estates remind us of the golden age. Even then, the Vecht region was a popular place to stay.
