Sailing or driving to the Loodrechtse plassen
At the hotel reception you can rent a sloop or sup board, including free sailing routes. This is how you can sail via the Vecht to the Loosdrechtse Plassen to continue enjoying the water there. We can also help you with a cruise through a shipping company.
Prefer by land? You are also there within a 10-minute drive or a wonderful 20-minute trip with a bicycle rented from us.
About the Loodrechtse plassen
The Loosdrechtse Plassen are the best known of the Vechtplassen. You can practice various water sports here, but also enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Or visit one of the many nice terraces to have a beautiful view of the water from there while enjoying a snack and drink.
Does Loosdrecht have a town center?
No, at least not a compact village center like other places have.
However, you can go to Nieuw-Loosdrecht for your shopping and nice cafes, while in Oud-Loosdrecht you can have lunch or dinner by the water and take a look at the marinas.
Does Loosdrecht have a station?
No, Loosdrecht does not have a train station.
The nearest stations are those of Hilversum and Breukelen. From there, it is about 20 minutes by bus 120 and/or 121. Bus 120 also passes by Flora Batava.
Flora Batava rents (electric) bicycles for use during your stay. In 20 minutes, you can reach the Loosdrecht lakes via a beautiful route. Or rent a boat and sail there via the Vecht – directly from the hotel, as we are located on the water.
What to do in Loosdrecht with children?
There is plenty to do in Loosdrecht for families with children, especially if they enjoy water, nature, and adventure.
For example, go boating together in a sloop and stop at uninhabited islands for a picnic, or go swimming at Vuntus Beach or De Strook Swimming Beach. Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is also a fun activity on the water in calmer areas.
On the mainland, visit the sheep at Dierenweide Zonnehoeve, learn about the life of honeybees at Imkerij ‘t Schuurtje, go horseback riding at IJslanderij de Sijphoeve, have an ice cream at one of the parlors, or imagine yourself as a lady or knight at Kasteel Sypesteyn.
Is it raining or too cold? Then you can retreat to, for example, the indoor playground Spelekids, Avontuurfabriek, or the Hilversum Film Theater.
