VILLA DE VIJVERHOF
In 2019 a start was made with the restoration of the country estate and the change of the outdoor courtyard into a hotel function. The country estate had fallen into disrepair after having served as a research institute for the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences for a long period. The national monument has been restored with the support of the Stichting Erfgoed Parels. The entire building has been overhauled from chimney to cellar. Ornaments have been restored, roofs have been restored, paint layers have been removed and reapplied, all electricity and installations have been removed and replaced and a new conservatory has been added.
THE GARDEN OF FLORA BATAVA
The garden is also being restored to its former glory. The Stichting in Arcadië provided garden historical research. Patricia Debie van Debie en Verkuijl made the garden design for the country estate. Martijn Tillema and Modeste Herwig jointly took care of the development and the planting plan.
In addition to the parties mentioned above, there are still a huge number of companies and people who have all done their very best to achieve this great result.
